TICK-TOCK

Recently I was present for the birth of our 4thgrandchild, today he is already 8 weeks old!
Also recently I was present as my oldest grandson graduated High School. He is now 18 years old. We also have 17 & 13-year-old grandchildren!
We often hear people say, “where did the time go”, and I can honestly say I know how they feel. It is hard to believe that the baby is already 8 weeks old, but even harder to believe that our oldest grandson is 18 and out of high school already.
Time is such an interesting thing, the good ole clock never stops ticking. No matter what we do or say, there is always that “tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock”. It’s never ending. It won’t speed up and it won’t slow down, it stays consistent, tick-tock-tick-tock.
And just a few more tick-tocks and our 8-week-old grandson will be 18 and graduating too!
Oh, how we wish we could speed up the bad moments of life and slow down the enjoyable moments of life, but nope…it’s always going to be the same: tick-tock-tick-tock….
We must embrace our “tick-tocks” and make the most out of them! When I see my 3 teenage grandchildren and our new little one, my heart want more time with them, to hold and cherish them, to enjoy every smile, every hug, every Nana kiss on their forehead with my bright lipstick!
But more importantly, I want more time with them to impart good things into them, to speak into them and to influence them for the things of God. As I see them growing older and learning how to maneuver thru teenage years and becoming adults, I want to make sure to do whatever it takes to show them how amazing Jesus is, how important His WORD is and what a wonderful Father God He is. I want to speak into their life as much as I can and help do my part as Nana to be there for them thru life’s difficulties, but more important, to show them how to look to Jesus thru difficulties.
We have only so many “tick-tocks” and then we are gone from this earth realm, let’s use those precious tick-tocks wisely, let’s purpose to enjoy our time, but also to use our time to be an influence on those around us, especially our family!
Let’s SPEAK into the life of others, let’s share and show them Jesus! Let’s purpose to let every tick-tock from now until we move to heaven to be full of the love, patience, peace, and power of our Father God!

Enjoy your “tick-tocks” today!
Make it a lemonade kind of day!
Carla
